Past winners comments:
...The WFNB has a strong reputation among writers across Canada, particularly regarding the administration and provision of your annual Literary Competition. It is seen as a premiere competition, with a very high level of prestige, and I am privileged to be connected with the Federation through this award.
Sincerely,
Sandra Ridley
Winner of the Alfred G. Bailey Prize for her manuscript DOWNWINDERS, adjudicated by Peter Richardson.
Dear contest administrators,
My manuscript, ACADIAN STAR, placed second in your writing competition this year in the Children's Literature category. Since then, I'm happy to say, I've found a publisher and ACADIAN STAR will be published this fall by Nimbus Publishing. I thought you would like to know what a wonderful impact your competition has had on one writer's life.
Sincere thanks to Sylvia McNicoll and the WFNB for the hard work in judging and executing this competition.
All the best,
Hélène Boudreau
WFNB LITERARY COMPETITION RULES
The WFNB Annual Literary Competition was established in 1984, and awards prizes totalling $2200 each year.
