A prize of $5,000 will be awarded to the best work of short fiction. Two honourable mentions will each receive $1,000 prizes. Entries should be no more than 2,500 words (10 pages, double-spaced).
To be eligible candidates must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant, under the age of 35, unpublished in book form and without a book contract, but whose literary work must have appeared in at least one independently edited magazine or anthology.
The candidate’s name, address, telephone number and details confirming their eligibility should only appear on the cover sheet accompanying the manuscript. All pages must be consecutively numbered. Entries will not be returned.
The deadline for submissions is October 15, 2007.
