Call for Proposals

Cape Jourimain Nature Centre's Annual EcoArts Festival is slated for September 29 and 30th. Due to a combination of circumstances we still have opportunities for a few more artists to join in the event. Artist participation can take a number of forms: re-mounting / showing of previously developed works, development of new works on site, demonstration of techniques, leading of informal "drop-in" workshops. All projects should have at their core an examination of the natural world, environmental conservation, or reflection on our place in nature.

Compensation is in the form of an artists fees of $200/day (maximum 5 days), plus mileage and food while on site. Artists are not required to be on site for the entire weekend however, a walk through with the artists is planned for Sunday afternoon and it is expected that artists receiving payment for work will be present.

Interested artists can send a very brief project proposal (a paragraph is
sufficient) and their cv to Ramsey Hart at ramsey.hart@capejourimain.org.

As an inter-disciplinary event we welcome proposals from artists working in a variety of media and especially those working in sound and media arts.

Projects may be challenging but should be relatively accessible to a broad audience.

The festival is funded by the Canada Council for the Arts and the NB Partnership Program for Community Cultural Activities.
