Freelance Writers for ASKMEN Canada

AskMen.com is now accepting applications from freelance writers to produce Canadian-specific content for the company's Canadian website. Potential applicants must:

* Be knowledgeable on Canada-specific history, culture and trends as they pertain to AskMen.com features (e.g. Sports, Dating, Fashion, etc.).
* Possess strong writing skills.
* Be deadline-oriented.
* Be capable of assuming a variety of tones and viewpoints in their writing.
* Be able to follow the creative direction of articles as outlined by AskMen.com's Editorial staff.
* Be receptive to feedback and criticism.


WHAT TO SUBMIT

* A complete application for the position must include the information listed below (incomplete applications will not be considered).
* A Canadian-specific sample article (not previously published) between 800-1,200 words, written to match the tone and structure of one of AskMen.com's features. Sample articles may cover any of the subject matter covered on our site (e.g. Sports, Dating, Fashion, etc.).
* An updated C.V.
* A list of other sections from the website that the applicant would be interested in working on.


GUIDELINE FOR WRITING SAMPLE

Other things applicants must keep in mind when writing their sample pieces:

* Articles must match the structural format of other pieces from their relevant section. Please refer to previous articles as a guide.
* Your submission must be UPE: Useful, Practical & Entertaining.
* AskMen.com's average reader is a male professional between the ages of 18 and 45, with an advanced education. Make sure your submission reflects that.
* Submitted article topics may have already been assigned to other writers.
* AskMen.com does not publish short stories or poetry.
